We kick off Maestro Ramsey’s 25th Anniversary season with a return visit by one of the orchestra’s most esteemed guest artists, Roberto Plano. Since his first appearance with the ASO in the 2002-2003 season, no other guest artist has made a larger impact. His enchanting musicianship and charming persona have captivated audiences from the very beginning and throughout his many return visits. His performance will add another chapter in our celebration of George Gershwin’s 100th birthday. And, recreating her performance from the turn of the century, Kaitlin Ramsey returns to Illuminate Copland’s beloved ballet suite: Appalachian Spring, in poetry. Rounded off with Mexican composer Arturo Marquez’s Danzon No. 2, this concert is sure to be the hit of the fall season.
Marquez: Danzon No. 2
Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue
Copland: Appalachian Spring (with poetry by Kaitlin Ramsey)
Tickets are also available at the Coffee House on Main Street and Hy-Vee.
